In today's blog post, I will share with you a Shipley Donut Recipe. I first tasted Shipley Donuts in Texas. They were so tasty I wanted more. Now, I make them at home for my family.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 1/2 cups  All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup  Milk
  • 1/4 cup  Sugar white
  • 1/4 cup  Water
  • ¼ cup  Crisco Shortening Butter
  • 1 packet Yeast
  • 1 large Egg
  • Cooking oil (for frying)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Making the Sweet Glaze

  • 2 tbsp Melted Butter
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ½ cup  Milk

Instructions
 

Step 1: Making the Dough

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water. Rest for 10- 15 minutes.
  • Warm milk, then let it cool.
  • Mix sugar, shortening, and salt for 2 minutes.
  • Add cooled milk, then mix in egg and vanilla.
  • Add yeast-water mix and mix well.
  • Gradually add flour until dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  • Place dough in an oiled bowl. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Roll dough to 1/2-inch thick and cut into shapes.
  • Place donuts on a parchment-lined tray.

Step 2: Making the Glaze

  • Melt butter and mix with sugar and milk.

Step 3: Cooking

  • Heat 2 inches of oil to 350-375°F.
  • Fry donuts until golden, about 1 minute.
  • Drain on a cooling rack.
  • Dip in hot glaze and let set. Enjoy!
