- 2 cups whole milk.
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil.
- 1/2 cup sugar.
- 1 packet active dry yeast.
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
- 1/2 tablespoon salt.
- 1 cup melted butter.
- 1 cup brown sugar.
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
- Maple icing Sugar, milk, butter, maple extract.
Heat milk, oil, and sugar in a pan. Do not let it boil. Let it cool slightly.
Sprinkle yeast over the warm liquid. Let it sit for 10 minutes. It should look foamy.
Add 4 cups of flour. Stir until a dough forms. Cover and let rise for one hour.
Add the remaining flour, powder, soda, and salt. Mix well.
Roll dough into a large rectangle. Spread melted butter over it. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon.
Roll the dough into a log. Cut into thick slices. Place in a greased pan. Let rise again.
Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Pour maple icing on top while warm.
