Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs chicken pieces mixed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Soak chicken pieces in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  • Mix flour with all dry seasonings thoroughly.
  • Heat oil to 350°F in deep fryer.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
  • Coat each piece completely in seasoned flour mixture.
  • Fry chicken pieces for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  • Turn pieces once during cooking for even browning.
  • Check internal temperature reaches 165°F before removing.
  • Drain on wire rack for 5 minutes.
  • Serve immediately while hot and crispy

  1. Maintain oil at 350°F for perfect results
