  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese cubed
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Cool mashed potatoes to room temperature.
  • Take small potato portions in palms.
  • Place cheese cube in center carefully.
  • Shape into stick form around cheese.
  • Roll each stick in flour first.
  • Dip in beaten eggs thoroughly.
  • Coat with breadcrumbs evenly everywhere.
  • Heat oil to 350°F temperature.
  • Fry sticks until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on paper.

Notes

  1. Refrigerate shaped sticks for 30 minutes to prevent cheese from leaking during frying.
  2. Maintain 350°F oil temperature for optimal crispiness without burning the coating.
  3. Apply breadcrumbs twice for extra crunch and better cheese containment.
  4. Use firm mozzarella or cheddar that won't melt too quickly during preparation.
  5. Serve immediately after frying while cheese is still molten and coating is crispy.
