  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease your 9x13 inch baking pan well.
  • You can also line it with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  • Whisk them in a medium bowl.
  • Set this mixture aside for later use.
  • Use your electric mixer on high speed.
  • Beat eggs and sugar for 8-10 minutes.
  • The mixture should be thick and pale yellow.
  • This step is very important for fluffy cake.
  • Pour in the milk and vanilla extract slowly.
  • Mix on low speed until just combined.
  • Don't overmix at this stage.
  • Gently fold the flour mixture into egg mixture.
  • Use a rubber spatula for this step.
  • Fold carefully to keep the airiness intact.
  • Pour batter into your prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • A toothpick should come out clean when inserted.
  • Whisk together condensed milk, evaporated milk, and cream.
  • Mix until everything is well combined and smooth.
  • Let the cake cool for 15 minutes.
  • Poke holes all over using a fork.
  • Pour the milk mixture slowly over entire cake.
  • Let it soak for at least 2 hours.
  • Refrigeration works best overnight.
  • Beat heavy cream with sugar and vanilla.
  • Whip until stiff peaks form nicely.
  • Spread this over the soaked cake evenly.
  • Dust the top with ground cinnamon lightly.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve your guests.

Notes

  • Poke plenty of holes for better milk absorption.
  • Use a skewer or thick fork works perfectly.
  • Let the cake soak overnight for maximum flavor.
  • The longer it sits, the better it tastes.
  • Don't skip beating eggs for full 8 minutes.
  • This creates the light, airy texture you want.
  • Serve the cake cold directly from refrigerator.
  • It tastes best when properly chilled throughout.
  • Use full-fat milk products for richest flavor.
  • Low-fat versions won't give same creamy result.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator tightly.
  • The cake stays fresh for 3-4 days.
