  • Wooden Spoon
  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes 14 oz each
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 2 cans kidney beans drained (15 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  • Heat your pot over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook thoroughly.
  • Break it into small pieces while cooking. Drain excess fat when done. This takes about 8 minutes.
  • Toss in diced onion and garlic. Cook until onion becomes soft and clear.
  • Stir frequently to prevent burning. This takes about 5 minutes total.
  • Add chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Stir everything together very well.
  • Let spices cook for 1 minute. This releases their amazing flavors.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes and sauce. Add kidney beans and beef broth.
  • Stir until everything is well combined. Season with salt and pepper now.
  • Bring mixture to a gentle boil. Then reduce heat to low immediately.
  • Cover and let simmer 30 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for healthier results.
  • Let chili sit overnight for better flavor.
