Preheat your oven to 350°F first.
Grease both cake pans with butter.
Line them with parchment paper carefully.
This prevents sticking later on.
Combine flour, baking soda, and cinnamon.
Add salt to the mixture too.
Whisk everything together until well combined.
Set this bowl aside for now.
Beat eggs in a large bowl.
Add oil and sugar gradually while beating.
Mix until everything is well combined.
Add vanilla extract and mix again.
Pour dry ingredients into wet mixture.
Fold gently until just combined together.
Don't overmix the batter at all.
Add grated carrots and walnuts now.
Fold them in gently and carefully.
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
Bake for 35-40 minutes in oven.
Test with a toothpick for doneness.
It should come out clean completely.
Let cakes cool for 10 minutes.
Remove from pans onto cooling rack.
Beat cream cheese until it's fluffy.
Add softened butter and beat again.
Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing.
Add vanilla and beat until smooth.
Place first cake layer on plate.
Spread frosting on top layer generously.
Place second layer on top carefully.
Frost entire cake with remaining frosting.
Decorate as you like with walnuts.
