Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Whisk
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small white onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cans 10 oz red enchilada sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can 4 oz diced green chiles
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet. Add the diced onions to the pan. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat from the meat.
  • Stir in the garlic salt and black pepper. Add the green chiles for extra flavor. Mix everything well over low heat.
  • Whisk the enchilada sauce and sour cream together. Do this in a medium bowl until smooth. This makes the sauce very rich and tasty.
  • Spread some sauce in the baking dish. Place beef and cheese inside each flour tortilla. Roll them up tightly and place them down.
  • Pour the remaining sauce over the rolled tortillas. Top with the rest of the shredded cheese. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.

Notes

  • Use full-fat sour cream for the best taste.
  • Warm the tortillas before rolling to prevent cracking.
  • Add extra cheese on top for a golden crust.
  • Let the dish sit for five minutes before serving.
