Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Measuring Cups
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Glass Mug
  • Small whisk
  • Tea Infuser
  • Electric Frother

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp DRIED CULINARY LAVENDER
  • 1 tbsp BLACK TEA LEAVES
  • 1/2 cup WHOLE MILK
  • 1 cup FILTERED WATER
  • 1 tbsp RAW HONEY
  • 1/2 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 1 pinch DRIED ROSE PETALS
  • 1 small CINNAMON STICK

Instructions

Boil the Water

  • Heat the filtered water in your small saucepan over high heat. Bring it to a rolling boil before you turn the stove down. This helps extract the deep flavor from the black tea.

Steep the Flowers

  • Add the culinary lavender buds and black tea to the hot water. Let them sit for five minutes total time in the pot. This provides the signature lavender floral profile.

Heat the Milk

  • Pour the whole milk into a separate small pan over low heat. Warm it until you see tiny bubbles around the edge of the metal. Do not let the milk boil or it will get a burnt taste.

Sweeten the Mix

  • Stir the raw honey and vanilla extract into the hot tea liquid. The honey will melt very fast into the warm and purple water. This adds a deep and very savory sweetness.

Strain the Tea

  • Pour the tea through a fine mesh sieve into your glass mug. This removes the tea leaves and the spent lavender flowers. The liquid should look very dark and smell like a garden.

Froth and Serve

  • Pour the warm milk over the tea and stir it gently with a spoon. Use your frother to make a thick layer of white foam on top. Serve it hot with a sprinkle of extra purple buds.

Notes

➜ Use culinary-grade lavender for the best floral results.
➜ Do not steep the tea too long or it gets very bitter.
➜ Use a high-quality honey for a better floral taste.
➜ Froth the milk well for a professional café texture.
➜ Use oat milk for a much more nutty and creamy flavor.
➜ Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweet honey sugar.
