Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring Cups
  • Small Bowls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Brussel Sprouts
  • 1 cup Sweet Corn
  • 1 cup Lima Beans
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion
  • 1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp Fresh Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Vegetables

  • Start by washing all your fresh produce well. Chop the onions and peppers into small cubes. Slice the brussel sprouts into very thin pieces.

2. Sauté the Aromatics

  • Heat your skillet over a medium flame. Add a small bit of oil or butter. Toss in the onions and garlic first. Cook them until they smell very good.

3. Cook the Sprouts and Peppers

  • Add the sliced sprouts and peppers to the pan. Stir them often so they do not burn. Let them soften for about five minutes.

4. Add Corn and Beans

  • Pour in the sweet corn and lima beans next. These ingredients cook very fast. Keep the heat steady to keep them crisp.

5. Simmer with Cream

  • Lower the heat and add the heavy cream. Stir in the fresh thyme and butter. Let the liquid bubble and thicken slowly.

6. Season and Finish

  • Add the salt and pepper to your taste. Squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice on top. Serve the dish while it is nice and hot.

Notes

➔ Use fresh corn instead of canned for better crunch.
➔ Cut all veggies to the same size for even cooking.
➔ Do not overcook the beans to keep them bright green.
➔ Add the garlic last so it does not turn bitter.
➔ Use cold butter at the end for a glossy finish.
➔ Taste the dish before serving to check the salt levels.
