Ingredients

  • 500 g LARGE SHRIMP
  • 8 pieces CORN TORTILLAS
  • 1 cup PURPLE CABBAGE
  • 1/2 cup SOUR CREAM
  • 2 whole LIME
  • 1 tsp CHILI POWDER
  • 1/2 tsp CUMIN
  • 1 bunch FRESH CILANTRO
  • 2 tbsp OLIVE OIL
  • 1 large AVOCADO

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Wash your shrimp under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. This helps them sear very well. They will get very crispy.

Step 2:

  • Put the shrimp in a bowl. Add the chili powder and cumin. Toss them until they are coated. Ensure every shrimp has spice.

Step 3:

  • Heat your frying pan on high. Add a splash of olive oil. Wait for the oil to shimmer. This means it is hot.

Step 4:

  • Place the shrimp in the hot pan. Cook them for two minutes per side. They should turn pink and firm. Do not overcook them.

Step 5:

  • Remove the shrimp from the heat. Squeeze some fresh lime juice over them. This adds a great zing. It finishes the flavor perfectly.

Step 6:

  • Mix the sour cream and lime zest. Do this in a small bowl. This is your taco cream sauce. It should be very smooth.

Step 7:

  • Warm your corn tortillas in a pan. Let them get slightly charred and soft. This makes them taste authentic. It also makes them flexible.

Step 8:

  • Place a spoonful of cabbage on tortillas. Add three or four cooked shrimp. This is the base layer. It looks very colorful.

Step 9:

  • Drizzle the lime cream over the top. Add a few slices of avocado. This makes it look gourmet. It adds a rich feel.

Step 10:

  • Top with fresh cilantro and extra lime. Serve the tacos while they are hot. Enjoy your delicious homemade meal. You are a chef.
