Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Can opener
  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

  • 28 oz Canned Tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

1. Prep the Garlic

  • Peel your garlic cloves first. Chop them into very tiny pieces. Do not burn the garlic.

2. Heat the Oil

  • Put the skillet on medium heat. Add the olive oil. Let the oil get warm.

3. Sauté the Aromatics

  • Add the garlic to the hot oil. Stir it for one minute. It should smell very good.

4. Add the Tomatoes

  • Pour the canned tomatoes into the pan. Use your spoon to crush them. This makes it thick.

5. Season the Sauce

  • Add oregano and red pepper flakes now. Put in the salt and pepper. Stir it well.

6. Simmer the Mix

  • Let the sauce bubble gently. Cook it for ten minutes. It will get thicker now.

7. Add Fresh Herbs

  • Tear the fresh basil with your hands. Stir it into the sauce at the end.
