Cutting Board
- 800 g GROUND BEEF CHUCK
- 4 tbsp DEVONSHIRE BUTTER
- 4 slices CHEDDAR CHEESE
- 4 whole BRIOCHE BUNS
- 1 large FRESH TOMATOES
- 4 leaves ICEBERG LETTUCE
- 1 small RED ONION
- 1 tsp SEA SALT
- 1 tsp BLACK PEPPER
Place your ground beef in the large mixing bowl. Season the meat generously with sea salt and black pepper. Mix it gently with your hands but do not overwork.
Shape the beef into large, thick patties very carefully. Press down the center with your thumb to prevent swelling. Place them on a clean tray inside the fridge.
Turn your outdoor grill to a very high heat now. Let the grates get smoking hot before cooking anything. This will start the searing process quickly for maximum juice.
Place your cold beef patties on the hot grill. Let them sear without moving for three whole minutes. This builds up a wonderful savory crust on the bottom.
Flip the meat patties over using your sturdy grill spatula. Melt your Devonshire butter in a small pan nearby. Brush the melted fat over the hot seared meat.
Lay a thick slice of Cheddar cheese on top. Close the grill lid for two minutes to melt it. Remove the juicy cheeseburgers from the heat to rest.
Toast your soft brioche buns on the grill grates. Layer the crisp lettuce, tomato, and red onion inside. Top with the juicy cheese patty and enjoy immediately.
- Always keep your burger meat very cold before grilling.
- Do not press the patties with your spatula while cooking.
- Baste the meat with butter to seal in the juices.
- Let the cooked burgers rest for five minutes before serving.
- Toast the buns to prevent them from getting soggy fast.
