Equipment

  • Large baking dish
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush
  • Meat thermometer
  • Kitchen tongs

Ingredients

  • 10 CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS
  • 6 tbsp HONEY
  • 4 tsp SOY SAUCE
  • 1 tbsp FRESH GINGER grated
  • 2 cloves GARLIC minced
  • 3 tbsp RICE WINE VINEGAR
  • 2 tsp SESAME OIL
  • 1 pinch SALT
  • 1 pinch BLACK PEPPER

Instructions

  • Heat your oven to 400°F before you start. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. This helps the skin get very crispy and golden.
  • Place the chicken in your large baking dish. Season it with a little salt and black pepper. Do not use too much salt because of the soy.
  • Whisk the honey, soy, and ginger in a bowl. Add the garlic and vinegar to the mix. Stir it until the honey is fully dissolved.
  • Pour half of the glaze over the chicken legs. Use your brush to coat them very well. Put the dish into the hot oven now.
  • Bake the chicken for about 20 minutes first. Take it out and pour the rest of the glaze. This creates a thick and sticky layer of flavor.
  • Bake for another 20 minutes until fully cooked. The internal temperature should reach exactly 165°F. Let the meat rest for five minutes before eating.

Notes

  • Always pat the chicken skin dry before you cook.
  • Use fresh ginger for the very best spicy flavor.
  • Do not crowd the pan during the baking process.
  • Let the chicken rest so the juices stay inside.
  • Turn the drumsticks halfway through for even browning.
