Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Sharp knife
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 4 6 oz SALMON FILLETS
  • 2 tbsp OLIVE OIL
  • 1 large LEMON
  • 4 sprigs FRESH DILL
  • 1 tsp SEA SALT
  • 1/2 tsp BLACK PEPPER

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Line your tray with parchment paper. This helps the fish cook evenly.
  • Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. Removing moisture makes the skin very crispy. Dry fish takes the seasoning better.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the salmon fillets. Rub it in with your clean hands. Make sure every inch is lightly coated.
  • Sprinkle sea salt and pepper on top. Be generous with the seasoning for flavor. Press it down slightly into the meat.
  • Place thin lemon slices on each fillet. Top them with fresh sprigs of dill. This infuses the fish with herbal scents.
  • Slide the tray into the middle rack. Bake the salmon for about ten minutes. The center should be slightly translucent.

Notes

  • Always use fresh salmon for the best texture.
  • Let the fish reach room temperature before baking.
  • Do not overcook the salmon or it gets dry.
  • Keep the skin on to lock in the juices.
  • Use fresh herbs instead of dried ones for flavor.
  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
  • Rest the fish for two minutes before serving it.
