Ingredients
  

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 3/4 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups strong coffee cooled
  • 3 tbsp cherry liqueur
  • 2 packages ladyfinger cookies
  • 1 cup fresh cherries pitted
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Dark chocolate shavings

Instructions
 

  • Whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
  • Add mascarpone cheese. Mix until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Whip heavy cream separately. Fold into mascarpone mixture gently.
  • Combine coffee and cherry liqueur in shallow bowl.
  • Dip each ladyfinger quickly. Arrange in single dish layer.
  • Spread half mascarpone mixture over soaked ladyfinger cookies.
  • Scatter fresh cherries evenly across the creamy layer.
  • Add second ladyfinger layer. Repeat dipping process carefully.
  • Top with remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth surface evenly.
  • Refrigerate overnight. Dust with cocoa before serving time.

Notes

  1. Use room temperature mascarpone for smoother mixing results
  2. Don't oversoak ladyfingers or they'll become too mushy
  3. Fresh cherries work better than canned for texture
